
Thomas J. Appio
Chief Executive Officer
Thomas J. Appio was named Chief Executive Officer in August 2021. In August 2016 he was promoted to President Bausch + Lomb/International. He joined the organization in 2010 as Managing Director, China. Under his leadership the organization experienced accelerated growth in revenue and profitability within many of its international businesses. Previous to joining Bausch + Lomb, he served 23 years with Schering-Plough in a wide range of leadership and operations responsibilities across multiple countries and regions.

John Barresi
Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer & Interim Chief Financial Officer
John is the Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer & Interim Chief Financial Officer at Bausch Health. Prior to his appointment, John served as the Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer of Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. He has held various leadership roles at Tiffany & Co., including Vice President, Global Business Transformation, Vice President, Controller, and Vice President, Internal Audit and Financial Controls. Earlier in his career, Mr. Barresi worked in public accounting with Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP.

Seana Carson
Executive Vice President, General Counsel
Seana Carson is General Counsel of Bausch Health. She joined Bausch Health in 2006, and served as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for more than 12 years. In 2019 she was named Senior Vice President, Head of Legal International, with responsibility for the international legal function. Before joining Bausch Health, Seana began her career as an Associate with the Norton Rose Fulbright international legal firm. Seana received her law degree from Queens University in Ontario and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario.

Josh Coyle
Senior Vice President Sales, Salix
Josh Coyle is the Senior Vice President Sales, Salix at Bausch Health. Josh has been a commercial leader with 24 years of award-winning experiences in sales, marketing, and commercial operations in the pharmaceutical industry. Josh started at Bausch Health in 2012 leading sales and marketing for the Orapharma division before transitioning to the Salix business unit in 2017. Josh has been the Vice President of Sales for Salix since 2018, where he has been responsible for our sales strategy and execution, with a focus on implementation of a breadth of key foundational and innovation-based initiatives. Prior to joining Bausch Health, Josh spent 13 years at AstraZeneca in a variety of different roles, including launching and managing significant growth brands.

Mirza Dautbegovic
Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Mirza Dautbegovic is the Chief Operating Officer of Bausch Health, with responsibility for Strategy, Business Development and M&A, Information Technology, Manufacturing/Supply Chain and Real Estate/Facilities. Mirza joined Bausch Health in 2017 as Vice President, International Finance, leading the company’s finance function in all markets where the company operated, excluding the U.S. Previously, Mirza spent more than 14 years with Tyco International (later Johnson Controls), in a variety of leadership roles on the enterprise level and within multiple business segments based out of the U.S., U.K. and Switzerland. Mirza holds a degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Bridgeport and an MBA from Thunderbird, American Graduate School of International Management at Arizona State University.

Kathleen Fitzpatrick
Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer
Kathleen Fitzpatrick is the Chief Human Resources Officer for Bausch Health. She joined Bausch Health in 2019 as Vice President, Human Resources, leading the company’s HR efforts outside the U.S. and partnering closely with international business leaders, manufacturing and global functions. Previously, Kathleen spent more than 20 years with Honeywell in positions of increasing responsibility across several business units and countries. Prior to Honeywell, Kathleen worked in the health care and energy industries. She holds a master’s degree in HR Management from Lesley College in Cambridge, Mass. and a B.S. in Business Management and Organizational Communications from Suffolk University in Boston, as well as a Diploma in Organizational Development from the NPI Institute in the UK.

Jeff Hartness
Executive Vice President, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Neurology, Generics and Government Affairs
Jeff Hartness was named Executive Vice President, leading Market Access, Commercial Operations & Government Affairs, as well as our Neurology and Generics businesses. He joined the company in 2016 as Vice President and Head of Strategic Account Management, responsible for planning and implementing the company’s payer strategy. He joined Bausch Health from Sanofi Pharmaceuticals, where he worked for 15 years in Market Access, leading national and regional account management teams and launch executions, ultimately serving as Head of Sanofi’s PBMs, Employers and Specialty businesses.

Cees Heiman
Senior Vice President, Europe and Canada
Cees Heiman was named Vice-President Europe Pharma in May 2017. Under his leadership, the region experienced significant growth in revenue and profitability, led by its key market, Poland, as the majority of businesses in the region outperformed their respective markets. Heiman joined the company in 2015 as Vice-President for Poland. Previous to joining Bausch Health, Heiman served with The Medicines Company for 3 years, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer. Prior to that Heiman served 25 years with Pfizer in a wide range of senior leadership and operations responsibilities. Heiman has experience working and living in 10 different countries around the world, including India and Japan.

Graham Jackson
Senior Vice President, Chief Quality Officer
Dr. Graham Jackson is Chief Quality Officer of Bausch Health. He joined Bausch Health in 2004 from Biovail, a predecessor company and has since assumed various roles of increasing responsibility within R&D, Technical Operations, Manufacturing & Supply and Quality. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Global Pharmaceutical Quality Operations, and prior to that, he was Vice President and Head of Bausch Health’s Global External Manufacturing & Supply organization. Graham has more than 25 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including roles at Proctor & Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline and Wyeth. He has a degree in biotechnology and a Ph.D. in biochemical engineering, both from the University of London and is the named inventor of more than 25 patents and patent applications.

Nicola Kayel
Senior Vice President Marketing, Salix
Nicola Kayel is Senior Vice President Marketing, Salix at Bausch Health. She has over 25 years of commercial operations experience, having held senior level roles in new product planning, in-line marketing and sales management for many key brands, pre-launch through launch, including life cycle management, across a range of therapeutic areas. She has led the Salix marketing team since April 2016, where she has been responsible for the evolution and optimization of the marketing organization as it relates to strategic cross functional strategy and execution in support of our key GI brands. Prior to Salix, she worked at a consulting firm where she acted as a partner for emerging biotechnology companies, in developing their strategic commercial launch plan, including defining the revenue potential, conducting early-stage positioning and messaging and preparing the launch roadmap. Nicola has a postgraduate degree in Marketing and an undergraduate degree in Chemistry with First Class Honours (Queen’s University; Belfast).

Jiny Kim
Senior Vice President, Solta Medical
Jiny Kim is Senior Vice President, Solta Medical at Bausch Health. Jiny joined us from Zimmer Biomet, a global medical technology leader in orthopedics, where she was General Manager of Smart Implants. Prior to Zimmer Biomet, she worked at LivaNova as Vice President of Global Marketing, Neuromodulations, Depression, where she led key initiatives in clinical and commercial areas. Jiny worked at Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices for 12 years, where she held multiple global strategic and regional marketing roles launching and managing significant brands. Prior to obtaining her MBA, Jiny held positions as a financial analyst in private equity and management consulting. Jiny earned her MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan), is a Fulbright Scholar, and has dual undergraduate degrees from University of Pennsylvania in Economics (The Wharton School) and Political Science.

Donald Pearl
Senior Vice President, Ortho Dermatologics
Donald Pearl is Senior Vice President for Ortho Dermatologics at Bausch Health. He has spent 31 years in the pharmaceutical industry working in positions of increasing responsibility at Allergan, IPSEN Biopharmaceuticals, eNeura, Mayne Pharma, and Deknatel, a division of Pfizer. His experience has spanned from selling pharmaceuticals, surgical devices and topical skincare, to running a Neurology medical device company, leading U.S. and international sales and marketing teams, corporate account management, leading reimbursement policy and access teams, as well as sales operations. Donald has spent 24 years working in Neurology and physical rehabilitation medicine and has served on the Corporate Advisory Councils of the American Academy of Neurology and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Donald holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College and a Certificate in Healthcare Management from New York University. Donald also has served on the Board of the Orange County United Way, Children’s Specialized Hospital of NJ, and is currently serving as a Board of Director for the Child Neurology Foundation. Donald is also a retired military officer.

Dr. Tage Ramakrishna, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer, President, R&D
Dr. Tage Ramakrishna has been with the company since 2011 and has led the Research & Development (R&D) function at Bausch Health since 2014. Prior to joining Bausch Health, Dr. Ramakrishna worked for Progenics Pharmaceuticals as Vice President, Clinical Research; Nycomed, where he served as Corporate Vice President of International Drug Safety, and as Medical Director for Insmed Inc. Dr. Ramakrishna trained in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia and received a B.A. in biology from Rutgers University.

Tom Stern
Vice President and General Manager of OraPharma
Tom Stern is Vice President and General Manager of OraPharma at Bausch Health. Tom joined Bausch Health in 2019 as the Salix Senior Director of Marketing, Relistor, leading all commercial efforts. Tom was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of OraPharma in February 2022. Throughout his tenure, he led multiple strategic initiatives to transform the business to be more customer centric, operationally focused, and well-positioned for sustainable growth. Prior to joining Bausch Health, Tom spent >20-years with Johnson & Johnson in a variety of roles, including sales, training, sales leadership, marketing, and marketing leadership, and life-cycle management. Tom earned his undergraduate degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV and an MBA from Durham University in Durham, England.

Fernando Zarate
Vice President, Latin America
Fernando Zarate was named Vice President for Latin America in 2017. Zarate joined the company in 2007, assuming responsibility for Mexico & Central America Commercial Operations. In 2014, he took regional responsibility and expanded operations in 2015 with the acquisition of Humax in Colombia, reinforcing the Andean-area business. Under Zarate’s direction, the region experienced a turnaround in profitability and continuous revenue growth for seven consecutive years. Prior to joining Bausch Health, he worked in different positions across Latin America with Teva, Schering Plough and GSK. Zarate has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and an MBA.
