Bausch Health launches inaugural Bausch Foundation Report
When I joined Bausch Health in 2016, my vision was to help transform the organization into an innovative company dedicated to advancing global health.
Establishing the Bausch Health Foundation to oversee and direct Bausch Health’s charitable giving was an important step forward in that transformation – one that furthers our commitment to help people around the world live longer, healthier and more productive lives.
Through the Foundation’s work, we honor the guiding principles that John Jacob Bausch championed: passion, perseverance and innovation towards improving people’s lives.
The example he set is a constant reminder of the Foundation’s purpose – to help improve the lives of patients by providing access to safe, effective medicines and by financially supporting health care education and causes.
The importance of this mission came into sharp focus in 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic presented a complex set of challenges for communities around the world. We believe it is our responsibility to support government and public health officials who are relying on us and the health care products we produce.
We also want to help end injustice and discrimination against people of color. Accordingly, we expanded the Foundation’s mandate in 2020 to support Bausch Health’s ongoing Diversity & Inclusion efforts and are exploring additional ways to further support communities of color. Corporate philanthropy is now more important than ever, and we must all do our part to contribute to the overall health and well-being of our society.
This inaugural report outlines the important work the Foundation has done in its first two and a half years of operation. We remain committed to moving forward with purpose and expanding the Foundation’s reach in the years ahead.
I am proud of the impact we have had so far, and with the support of our philanthropic partners and Bausch Health’s 22,000 employees around the globe, I am confident that we can build on this to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
